The Diamond Group began its modest beginnings in Montreal in the depression of the 1930s. In an effort to feed his family, Harry Diamond took to manufacturing stove pipes. Shortly after, two of his sons, Jerry and Alec, joined him in the business and, before long, they became fabricators of stainless steel kitchen equipment, manufacturing under the name Canadian Kitchen. They branded the Diamond Chef Line. The company grew and, in the mid 1950s moved into a large manufacturing plant in the north part of Montreal.

The company flourished and the plant was expanded. In 1974, the third generation of Diamonds joined the organization. Ron Diamond joined the firm and began learning the business from the ground up. Recognizing the potential for growth, Ron soon took the organization to a new level when he formed a sister corporation called Diamond Metal products to focus on standard catalogue items such as counters, tables, refrigeration units and much more.. Within a short period, the company opened a facility in the industrial section of Laval, a community just north of Montreal. |
